Den 16 juni 1964 inköptes lantbruksegendomen Hörrs Nygård för att kunna ge scouting i Malmö ett lämpligt markområde att bedriva sin scoutverksamhet på.

Ett år senare invigdes lägerområdet i samband med Hörrs Nygårds första pingstläger den 5-7 juni 1965. Av Malmös dåvarande 20 scoutkårer deltog 13 kårer med över 700 scouter och ledare.

Högtidstalet och invigningen av området hölls av borgmästaren i Malmö, Thomas Munck af Rosenschöld. Bland andra närvarande gäster fanns kommunalordförande i Östra Färs kommun, Manuel Wigren, samt vice flickscoutchefen Ulla Berglind, Trelleborg.

Anläggningen ägs idag gemensamt av sex scoutkårer i Malmö, tillhörande Scouterna. Drift och förvaltning sköts av en styrelse utsedd av medlemskårerna.

Allt arbete sker helt ideellt.

De sex medlemskårerna är: Djupadal, Gripen, Husie-Hohög, Kirseberg, Oxie och Tornfalken.

History

The 16th of June, 1964 the farm property Hörrs Nygård was purchased to provide scouting in Malmö a suitable piece of land to conduct their scouting activities.

The camp site was inaugurated a year later, when the first Pentecostal camp took place at Hörrs Nygård on the 5-7th of June, 1965. 13 scout corps of Malmö’s 20 scout corps, attended with over 700 scouts and leaders. Formal speech and the inauguration of the area was held by the Mayor of Malmö, Thomas Munck af Rosenschöld. Among other guests present were the municipal president of Östra Färs municipality, Manuel Wigren, and Vice girl scout manager Ulla Berglind, Trelleborg.

The camp site is now owned in common by six of the scout corps in Malmö, belonging to Scouterna. Operation and administration is managed by a board appointed by the member corps. All work is entirely voluntary.

The six member corps are: Djupadal, Gripen, Husie-Hohög, Kirseberg, Oxie and Tornfalken.
